Support Corlyn Turner for the 2020 motionball Marathon Of Sport Toronto

On September 26, I am proud to be participating in motionball’s first ever virtual edition of Marathon of Sport, hosted by Olympic Champion Tessa Virtue.

I know we've all been missing out on some physical activity this year. Whether it's your Spin Studio, Boxing Gym, intramural sports shut down or just general discomfort going to a park to throw a frisbee around, the COVID impact on activity has been a pain. For most of us there's a light at the end of the tunnel. We know the option will be back available to us soon OR at some point in the future. Without the support and funding of groups like motionball the light at the end of the tunnel might go out for special olympics athletes across the country as the funding required to allow their participation in the sport diminishes.

That is why we need YOUR support more than ever. With many Special Olympics programs and fundraising initiatives on hold, our goal is to ensure that no athlete is left behind when programs resume.

By supporting motionball, you are helping raise important funds and creating awareness for the Special Olympics movement and making it possible for more people with intellectual disabilities to benefit from the transformative power of sport.

Thank you for your consideration -- any support is greatly appreciated.

HOW CAN YOUR DOLLARS HELP?

motionball for Special Olympics is a registered not-for-profit corporation, raising money for Special Olympics programs across Canada. 70% of the funds we raise are distributed to programs in the province where they are raised, with the remainder going to the long-term funding of programs through the Special Olympics Canada Foundation.

While COVID-19 has affected us all, Special Olympics athletes are feeling the effects of this global pandemic more than most. Sport programs are suspended, competitions have been cancelled, and many athletes remain stuck indoors, at a greater risk of contracting COVID-19 than the general population. Now more than ever, the role of motionball in these athlete’s lives is incredibly important. As one of the Special Olympics’ largest funding partners in Canada, motionball has donated over $13M to date. motionball supporters are dedicated to ensuring that every local club and program can return stronger than before, and that no Special Olympics athlete is left behind.
