Support Kevin Kevin for the 2021 motionball Marathon Of Sport Vancouver

Throughout the past 1.5 years, many have been affected by the pandemic including those individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities. Despite these tough years, Special Olympics Canada and Motionball were able to raise funds and created huge awareness on how important Special Olympics movement is. Also, athletes like Taylor is inspiring where he is able to stay active through sports!

"Taylor inspires us every day with the way he faces the world - fearless and with a big smile. He has had a number of obstacles to overcome in his life. motionball has had a direct impact on Taylor by giving him the chance to interact with young professionals and positive role models who look more at what he can do - not what he can't. This has made him more confident. Last year, Taylor brought home 2 bronze medals from the National Summer Games in Nova Scotia and interviewed the legendary Don Cherry on his very own radio show."  - Steve Redmond, parent and Special Olympics coach

With Motionball's dedication, they have been making it possible for people like Taylor, people with intellectual disabilities to benefit from the transformative power of sport and an active community.

And despite these uncertain times, we all still want to make a difference by running Motionball in-person (safely) this year. So here I am, ready for my 5th year of joining Motionball where tomorrow I'll be playing sports with amazing special athletes again!

My personal ask? I want to help my team reach our goal and we are almost there! Your contribution will help us reach our impact goal for Special Olympics Canada!

Your donation is critical in supporting athletes participating in Special Olympics programs at every level, from the athletes who bring home gold medals and make Canada proud on the world stage to the thousands who look forward to weekly practice for fitness, fun, and friendship. You are supporting the parents, siblings, caregivers, and friends of individuals with intellectual disabilities, who imagine a world of inclusion & endless possibilities. To give a better picture, here's where the funds will go:

-70% - Supports the local Special Olympics Chapter and Community initiatives at grassroots level in our province.
-25% - Goes towards the Special Olympics Canada Foundation, whose mandate is to ensure the long-term financial stability of Special Olympics in Canada.
-5% - Directed to the #NoGoodWay Campaign, with the goal of creating a more inclusive society.

Thank you for your consideration and note that the donation will be closed tomorrow by 10am. Once again, your contribution and support are greatly appreciated, the special athletes and my brother's community will be eternally grateful.

motionball for Special Olympics is a registered not-for-profit corporation, raising money for Special Olympics programs across Canada. 70% of the funds we raise are distributed to programs in the province where they are raised, with the remainder going to the long-term funding of programs through the Special Olympics Canada Foundation.

While COVID-19 has affected us all, Special Olympics athletes are feeling the effects of this global pandemic more than most. Sport programs are suspended, competitions have been cancelled, and many athletes remain stuck indoors, at a greater risk of contracting COVID-19 than the general population. Now more than ever, the role of motionball in these athlete’s lives is incredibly important. As one of the Special Olympics’ largest funding partners in Canada, motionball has donated over $13M to date. motionball supporters are dedicated to ensuring that every local club and program can return stronger than before, and that no Special Olympics athlete is left behind.
