Support Rob Hamilton for the 2022 motionball Marathon Of Sport Saint John

FB friends, I’m looking for a little help.
I’ve entered a team(Hammertime) in the Motionball Marathon Saint John in support of Special Olympics and I’m approaching all of you for sponsorship. The Motionball Marathon is a fund raising event for Special Olympics that is being held in numerous locations across Canada with the Saint John event being the only one held in New Brunswick. The target for the Saint John version is $20,000 with the majority of the monies raised staying in New Brunswick. Twelve teams comprised of 7-10 participants will compete in a variety of sporting events on Saturday May 14, 2022 at Rothesay Netherwood School. Each participant pays a $50 registration fee and the team is committed to raise a minimum of $1000.
Special Olympics, the Fundy Region Special Olympics in the Saint John area, provide special needs individuals with the opportunity to participate in a variety of sports where they are able to foster sportsmanship, camaraderie and forge lasting friendships. As most of you are aware, my son Mattie is autistic and me being sports-minded have encouraged him to participate in as many sports as possible and the Fundy Region Special Olympics provides an ideal avenue for this. The look of carefree joy that you see on the faces of these athletes as they participate in the games is absolutely priceless.
I’ve attached a link where you can sponsor me on-line as well as a link to the Motionball Marathon webpage which details the event. If you are local and would rather put the cash in my hand, let me know and I’ll make my way to you. If you’re able to sponsor me, it would be much appreciated and I thank you in advance.
This is a cause that is very near and dear to my heart and I’d really like the event to be an unparalleled success. If you are interested in entering a team, the webpage provides contact info to set the wheels in motion. Thanks for taking the time to read this!

HOW CAN YOUR DOLLARS HELP?

motionball for Special Olympics is a registered not-for-profit corporation, raising money for Special Olympics programs across Canada. 70% of the funds we raise are distributed to programs in the province where they are raised, with the remainder going to the long-term funding of programs through the Special Olympics Canada Foundation.

While COVID-19 has affected us all, Special Olympics athletes are feeling the effects of this global pandemic more than most. Sport programs are suspended, competitions have been cancelled, and many athletes remain stuck indoors, at a greater risk of contracting COVID-19 than the general population. Now more than ever, the role of motionball in these athlete’s lives is incredibly important. As one of the Special Olympics’ largest funding partners in Canada, motionball has donated over $13M to date. motionball supporters are dedicated to ensuring that every local club and program can return stronger than before, and that no Special Olympics athlete is left behind.
