I am so proud to be sharing that I have joined Claro Supernovas for the 2024 motionball Marathon of Sport presented by Kelowna Toyota. This year, on September 21, my Team and I will be taking the field, alongside local Special Olympics athletes for a full day of sports, fun and inclusivity!
Today, I am inviting you to become a part of this amazing day by helping us reach our Team fundraising goal of $1,600. A tax receiptable donation of $20 will make a direct, local impact on Special Olympics athletes, like my son Tanner. Tanner joined special Olympics 2 years ago and had participated in cross country skiing, gymnastics, floor hockey, track and field and bowling. Tanner was able to go to his first bowling event in Salmon Arm this spring. He had so much fun and was so excited to be part of a team.
While a $1,600 fundraising target is one of our Team goals, Marathon of Sport is about so much more! Through events like this, motionball raises awareness and funds for the Special Olympics movement and allows people with and without intellectual disabilities to connect, build new friendships, celebrate differences and ultimately create more inclusive communities across Canada.
