Support Corinne Hartlen for the 2024 motionball Marathon Of Sport Halifax

It's that time of year again!

As you may know, I have been volunteering with Special Olympics Halifax for 15 years now (including attending National Games with Team Nova Scotia in 2018 and 2024, and being on the Halifax Regional Committee since 2018), and have now participated in the Motionball Marathon of Sport for 9 years.

I have the opportunity to participate in this incredible event again this year, and I am looking for your help! Motionball Marathon of Sport is a key fundraising event for Special Olympics Canada. Your support in any amount is very much appreciated, and will go to an amazing cause!

Thank you once again to everyone for your continued support!

Please feel free to share ☺️

------------

On September 22nd, I am participating in an all-day fundraiser called motionball Marathon of Sport. This is an action-packed day where my team and I will play sports alongside Special Olympics athletes from our community. This day helps to bring athletes of all abilities together on the playing field. While fundraising is one of our goals, Marathon of Sport is about so much more.

This day not only brings awareness to the Special Olympics movement, but allows people with and without intellectual disabilities to interact, build lifelong friendships, and ultimately create more inclusive communities. The highlight of this event each year is having the opportunity to compete alongside local Special Olympics athletes like Matt.

Matt has been a Special Olympics athlete since he was 15 years old (almost 16 years) and has taken part in a wide variety of sports such as floor hockey, softball, skating, basketball, and his main sport currently is soccer.! Matt has been to many provincial summer and winter games and in 2013 his basketball team qualified to represented Nova Scotia at the National games in Vancouver in 2014! Hear from Matt about what being part of motionball means to him:

“I absolutely love participating in the Marathon of Sport where I meet new people and have lots of fun. I'm also a huge advocate of the #NoGoodWay Campaign!”

While a $1500 fundraising target is one of our Team goals, Marathon of Sport is about so much more! Through events like this, motionball raises awareness and funds for the Special Olympics movement and allows people with and without intellectual disabilities to connect, build new friendships, celebrate differences and ultimately create more inclusive communities across Canada.

With your help, we can reach our fundraising goal and make a difference in creating a more inclusive Canada! Please consider supporting our Team by making a donation directly to our fundraising page.

Every donation makes a difference.
