Dear Family and Friends,
On March 23, I am participating in an all-day fundraiser called Marathon of Sport. All funds raised at the event are donated to the Special Olympics Canada Foundation. Throughout the day, I will be competing alongside local Special Olympics athletes in a variety of sports such as basketball, soccer, bench ball, ultimate, floor hockey, and more!
Marathon of Sport is organized by motionball. motionball is a not-for-profit whose mandate is to introduce the next generation of donors, volunteers and sponsors to the Special Olympics movement through integrated social and sporting events. motionball now proudly hosts 33 annual events in 19 cities across the country. Through these events and since inception in 2002, motionball has donated over $10 million to the Special Olympics Canada Foundation.
At motionball’s request, 70% of the funds raised at Marathon of Sport are sent to the local Provincial Chapter. 25% stays with the Special Olympics Canada Foundation to ensure the long-term stability of the movement, and the other 5% is directed to the #NOGOODWAY Campaign which aims to end the use of the R-word (retard) in everyday conversation.

Thank you very much for your support,

motionball for Special Olympics is a registered not-for-profit corporation, raising money for Special Olympics programs across Canada. 70% of the funds we raise are distributed to programs in the province where they are raised, with the remainder going to the long-term funding of programs through the Special Olympics Canada Foundation.
While COVID-19 has affected us all, Special Olympics athletes are feeling the effects of this global pandemic more than most. Sport programs are suspended, competitions have been cancelled, and many athletes remain stuck indoors, at a greater risk of contracting COVID-19 than the general population. Now more than ever, the role of motionball in these athlete’s lives is incredibly important. As one of the Special Olympics’ largest funding partners in Canada, motionball has donated over $13M to date. motionball supporters are dedicated to ensuring that every local club and program can return stronger than before, and that no Special Olympics athlete is left behind.
