We are so proud to be sharing that Serving Looks will be participating at the 2024 motionball Marathon of Sport . On September 14, our Team will be taking the field, alongside local Special Olympics athletes for a full day of sports, fun and inclusivity!
Today, we are inviting you to become a part of this amazing day by helping us reach our Team fundraising goal of $1,000. A tax receiptable donation of $20 will make a direct, local impact on Special Olympics athletes, like Ruby.
Ruby first became involved with motionball’s Marathon of Sport 10 years ago, and since then has participated in countless motionball events. This year, Ruby has taken on the role of motionball's Honorary Athlete Ambassador. Read below to learn what being a part of motionball means to Ruby!
“I am so happy to be a part of motionball. I have loved making so many new friends over the years and doing so many exciting things with the motionball team. My favourite part of motionball events is seeing all my friends and meeting all kinds of new people. My favourite sports to play at Marathon of Sport are basketball, soccer and of course... all the dancing!”
While a $1,000 fundraising target is one of our Team goals, Marathon of Sport is about so much more! Through events like this, motionball raises awareness and funds for the Special Olympics movement and allows people with and without intellectual disabilities to connect, build new friendships, celebrate differences and ultimately create more inclusive communities across Canada.

Kevin
Kevin participates in many different sports including soccer, bocce and basketball. Kevin cannot wait to meet new people and make new friends as well as participate with his team in playing sports. Kevin enjoys getting to know people and talking to them. Outside of Special Olympics, Kevin likes to watch TV, write, read and be outside doing activities to stay active. Kevin also likes to sing and listen to music. Kevin is excited for his first motionball event and make new friends in a fun environment Kevin can’t wait to have fun!
Nerissa
Nerissa participates in Special Olympics track and field and swimming. Nerissa’s happiest Special Olympics memories are training and competing with her sister. Outside of Special Olympics, Nerissa likes to listen to music, make puzzles, swim, kayak, do yoga and dance. Nerissa loves meeting new people, interacting and meeting up with other Special Olympics athletes at motionball events.
