On March 23, the McGill Martlets Rugby Team is participating in an all-day fundraiser called motionball Marathon of Sport. This is an action-packed day where our Team will play sports alongside Special Olympics athletes from our community. This day helps to bring athletes of all abilities together on the playing field.
This day not only brings awareness to the Special Olympics movement, but allows people with and without intellectual disabilities to interact, build lifelong friendships, and ultimately create more inclusive communities. The highlight of this event each year is having the opportunity to compete alongside local Special Olympics athletes like Peter.
It is an honour as athletes to particpate in this event and we can't wait to have so much fun at the Marathon of Sport! We're looking forward to meeting fellow athletes from our community, and hearing the stories and experiences of local special olympics athletes. We hope to foster and grow real connections with the Special Olympics community with our coninued particpation and committment to Special Olympics and Motionball.
