I am so proud to be sharing that I have joined Cal LeGrow for the 2025 motionball Marathon of Sport . This year, on October 25, my Team and I will be taking the field, alongside local Special Olympics athletes for a full day of sports, fun and inclusivity!
Today, I am inviting you to become a part of this amazing event by helping us reach our Team fundraising goal of $2,500. A tax receiptable donation of $20 will make a direct, local impact on Special Olympics athletes, like Meghan.
Meghan is an athlete who represents Special Olympics Mount Pearl. She has been involved with Special Olympics for 17 years, and has competed in Athletics, Bowling, Floor hockey, Floor ball, Soccer, and Softball. She has been part of two Provincial Teams, where she attended both the Special Olympics Canada National Summer Games (Vancouver 2014) and Special Olympics National Winter Games (Calgary 2024).
Meghan's favourite part of Special Olympics is making new friends and helping others that need it. Her favourite memory is when she brought back 5 medals from the National Games in Vancouver. Meghan is kind, a good teammate, and always gives it her all, no matter which sport she is playing.
While a $2,500 fundraising target is one of our Team goals, Marathon of Sport is about so much more! Through events like this, motionball raises awareness and funds for the Special Olympics movement and allows people with and without intellectual disabilities to connect, build new friendships, celebrate differences and ultimately create more inclusive communities across Canada.
