On March 21st, I’ll be participating in the motionball Marathon of Sport at McGill, an all-day fundraiser where students play sports alongside Special Olympics athletes from our community. It’s an action-packed day that brings athletes of all abilities together on the same playing field.

This year is especially meaningful for me because it marks my fourth year helping organize and run this event at McGill. motionball has become something I care deeply about, and Marathon of Sport is always an incredible opportunity to bring people together through sport while raising awareness and support for Special Olympics athletes.

Beyond fundraising, this event helps create meaningful connections between people with and without intellectual disabilities. It allows athletes and students to interact, build friendships, and contribute to building more inclusive communities.

One of the highlights each year is the opportunity to compete alongside amazing Special Olympics athletes like Nicole.

Nicole has been part of motionball for 11 years, participating in Marathon of Sport events across many cities and university campuses. Through motionball, she stays active, builds friendships, and helps raise awareness and funding for Special Olympics athletes. In her words:

“Being part of motionball makes me happy because I get to play sports with my friends, meet new people, and help raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics. The support from motionball gives me the chance to train, compete, and be the best I can be.”

This year, my fundraising goal is $1000, and with your help we can reach it and continue supporting Special Olympics athletes.

If you’re able to support, I’d greatly appreciate a donation to my fundraising page. Every donation truly makes a difference.
