On March 14th, I am participating in an all-day fundraiser called motionball Marathon of Sport. This is an action-packed day where my team and I will play sports alongside Special Olympics athletes. This day helps bring athletes of all abilities together on the playing field and celebrates the power of inclusion through sport.

This year is especially meaningful to me as it marks my third year being involved with motionball, and my first year on the Brock committee. Over the past three years, I’ve seen firsthand how impactful this movement is — not only in raising funds, but in building genuine friendships and creating more inclusive communities.

My connection to the Special Olympics community goes back even further. For the past eight years, I’ve been involved in Special Olympics initiatives through TFC Unified Sport and Hometown Games. Through these experiences, I’ve had the privilege of playing, volunteering, and connecting with incredible athletes who continuously inspire me with their determination, positivity, and love for sport.

Marathon of Sport is more than just a fundraiser. It brings awareness to the Special Olympics movement and creates opportunities for people with and without intellectual disabilities to interact, compete, and build lifelong friendships. The highlight of this event each year is the opportunity to compete alongside local athletes and celebrate their achievements both on and off the field.

This year, we have a $20,000 fundraising target. With your support, we can reach our goal and continue to make a difference in creating a more inclusive Canada. The funds raised help provide athletes with opportunities to train, compete, and be part of a supportive community that empowers them to be their very best.

Please consider supporting our team by making a donation directly to our fundraising page.
