Dear Friends and Family,

I’m proud to share that I’ve joined Team Given’r for the 2026 motionball Marathon of Sport Calgary. On June 20th, our team will be taking the field alongside local Special Olympics athletes for a full day of sports, fun, and inclusivity.

This event means a lot to me personally because my brother Iain competes in the Special Olympics, and motionball is one of his favourite events every year. Seeing the excitement he has leading up to it, the friendships he builds, and the environment motionball creates is a reminder of how important events like this truly are. It’s more than just a fundraiser or a sports day — it’s a chance for athletes to connect, feel included, and be celebrated.

This year, our team is working toward a fundraising goal of $5,000, and we’re asking for your support to help us get there. Every donation goes directly toward supporting Special Olympics athletes and helping create opportunities, programs, and events that make a real difference.

While raising money is one goal, motionball is about so much more. It helps build awareness and creates opportunities for people with and without intellectual disabilities to come together, create friendships, and build more inclusive communities across Canada.

For me, this one hits close to home because I get to see firsthand what opportunities like this mean for someone like Iain. Watching him enjoy these experiences and be part of something he loves is a big reason why I continue to support and fundraise each year.

If you’re able to donate, any amount helps and is greatly appreciated. All donations over $20 receive an official tax receipt.

Every donation makes a difference.

Thank you so much for your support,

James
