Support Paul Horton

For the past 22 years, I have proudly participated in motionball and the Marathon of Sport in support of Special Olympics Canada. What started in 2004 as a way to give back to an incredible community has become one of the causes I care most deeply about.

This Saturday, June 20th, our team, Image Auto Body: Scuffed & Speedy, will once again take the field alongside local Special Olympics athletes for a day filled with sport, friendship, inclusion, and fun. While fundraising is an important part of the event, the real impact comes from bringing people together and creating opportunities for athletes with and without intellectual disabilities to connect, compete, and build lasting relationships.

One of the things that makes the Marathon of Sport so special is that every team includes Special Olympics athletes. Throughout the day, barriers disappear, new friendships are formed, and participants experience firsthand the power of inclusion through sport. It's impossible to spend a day at Marathon of Sport without being inspired by the energy, determination, and positivity of the athletes who participate.

This year, we are honoured to be joined by Chelsey and Jordan. Chelsey is an accomplished Track and Field athlete who will be representing Team Alberta at the 2026 Special Olympics Canada Summer Games. Jordan is a dedicated swimmer who has represented Team Canada on the international stage, including the Special Olympics World Games, earning multiple medals while inspiring everyone around her with her motto: Never give up.

Our team fundraising goal is $3,000, and every dollar raised helps support Special Olympics athletes right here in our community. A donation of $20 or more is eligible for a tax receipt and will help provide athletes with opportunities to train, compete, and experience the life-changing benefits of sport.

After 22 years, I continue to support motionball because I have seen firsthand the difference it makes. If you are able, I would be grateful for your support as we work toward our goal and continue building a more inclusive Canada.
