I am so proud to be sharing that I have joined Team Scorch for the 2026 motionball Marathon of Sport. This year, on ​​September 12th, my Team and I will be taking the field, alongside local Special Olympics athletes for a full day of sports, fun and inclusivity!

Today, we are inviting you to become a part of this amazing event by helping us reach our Team fundraising goal of $1,500. A tax receiptable donation of $20 will make a direct, local impact on Special Olympics athletes, like Dawn.

Dawn has been involved with Marathon of Sport Caledon since inception in 2022, and since then has participated in countless motionball events. This year we're so excited to have Dawn take on the role of motionball's Honorary Athlete Ambassador. Hear from Dawn about what being part of motionball means to her:

“I love staying active and playing sports like basketball, bocce, pickleball and curling. Being a part of Marathon of Sport Caledon is one of my favourite days because I get to spend time with all the friends I have made over the years. I am always excited to see my friends, make new ones and have fun playing sports together.”

While a $1,500 fundraising target is one of our Team goals, Marathon of Sport is about so much more! Through events like this, motionball raises awareness and funds for the Special Olympics movement and allows people with and without intellectual disabilities to connect, build new friendships, celebrate differences and ultimately create more inclusive communities across Canada.
