I am so proud to be sharing that I have joined motionball Unama'ki - Cape Breton Committee for the 2026 motionball Marathon of Sport . This year, on ​​June 27th, my Team and I will be taking the field, alongside local Special Olympics athletes for a full day of sports, fun and inclusivity!

Today, I am inviting you to become a part of this amazing day by helping us reach our Team fundraising goal of $10,000. A tax receiptable donation of $20 will make a direct, local impact on Special Olympics athletes, like Nicole.

Nicole has been part of motionball for 11 years, participating in Marathon of Sport events across many cities and university campuses. Through motionball, she stays active, builds friendships, and helps raise awareness and funding for Special Olympics athletes. Hear from Nicole about what being part of motionball means to her:

“Being part of motionball makes me happy because I get to play sports with my friends, meet new people, and help raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics. The support from motionball gives me the chance to train, compete, and be the best I can be.”

While a $10,000 fundraising target is one of our Team goals, Marathon of Sport is about so much more! Through events like this, motionball raises awareness and funds for the Special Olympics movement and allows people with and without intellectual disabilities to connect, build new friendships, celebrate differences and ultimately create more inclusive communities across Canada.
